WAC Champions!!! (Updated Video)

Well, last Friday UH football defeated Boise State to move to 11-0 and the win captured the WAC Championship. I was able to go to the sold out game with 7 friends. We arrived at the stadium 5 hours early to tailgate and enjoy the atmosphere. It was an intense game. I don't think I sat down once during the game and only here and there during timeouts. I lost my voice as well. When the game ended with the score or 39-27 I instantly jumped out of my seat and ran for the field. It was an insane scene as hundreds of UH fans rushed the field. I was so stoked to be a part of an exciting event like this. Sports fans love the idea of getting the chance to rush the field and I got that opportunity.

Is UH BCS bound??? I think so...

Just a short video of me when I was on the field, it was nutz...Hopefully this one works

UNIVERSITY of HAWAII FOOTBALL!!!

Today UH football moved to 10-0, making them one of only two teams in the nation that are still undefeated. It was an exciting game that came down to the wire. A Dan Kelly 45 yard field goal sealed the deal. I was blessed to share this moment with many of my friends as we jumped up and down, gave high fives all around, and threw in a few chest bumps. Is it possible? Could the UH Warriors really have a chance at a BCS Bowl game? I don't know. But next week we face our toughest opponent, Boise State. I will be at this game cheering like there is no tomorrow.

So all I have to say it...GO UH!!!!!

A November Post

So I don't really have anything in particular to talk about. I have been so concentrated on school that not much else has been going on. It is a crazy thought to know that I will have a B.A. in just over a month. I mapped everything I have left to do to graduate and it has made getting work done that much more satisfying. Every assignment I get done makes me that much closer to graduating.

If you want to hear anything about my life let me know...

I hope all is well,
-Jason

P.S. The Arizona Video is basically done. Just doing some finishing touches and waiting on a slide show that is being mailed to me.

So Yeah Today is My Birthday...

Well, I have a little break in between classes so I thought I'd write a little blog. I am in the middle of midterm week so that has been really stressful, not really the best time to have a birthday. I am not really doing much today but will be doing stuff this weekend for my birthday. In another note the Bowen Baby was born, I told Dan to tell that baby to wait another day but nooooo it had to be born five hours too early.

Besides all that stuff, my sister Tiana sent me The Office Season 3 for my birthday and it is hilarious. I recommend that everyone watch this show. I however believe that you need to start form the beginning to really understand the character development.

So I'm 23...that sounds so old...but it's really not. I hope all is well with everyone.

Aloha,
Jason

There's still a few things I have to do...like pass my classes but as of right now I will be attending the University of San Francisco next year.

I won't be starting till the summer so it looks like I'm going to have a lot of free time starting in January. Anyways I just thought I'd let you know.

A scare with the Arizona 2007 Video...

Hey, well just a random update on the Arizona Video...

Some unfortunate events happened, (well actually one) my computer, which I've only had for a month crapped out on me. It wouldn't turn on. I thought it crashed and I lost all my information. It ended up spending 8 days at the apple store getting fixed until they ruled it was just the power supply. I have my computer back and all the info is still in tack. This caused a major delay in the editing process so I will get back to it as soon as I can.

The estimated release date is Nov. 1st

This will be hard to get done but I hope I can. I hope all is well and I'll talk to you all later.

It's about time...

...I write a new post. I haven't written a post in a long time so here you go. I've been kinda busy. I have been trying to figure out a way to manage a job, the Arizona video, trying to have some fun, not failing school, getting grad application stuff done and just stuff that every day life has to offer. It's harder then it seems sometimes.

Anyways an update on life...

I am enjoying Hawaii the best I can. Hawaii is a beautiful place and so much fun when you come for vacation but it really is hard to get out and have fun with so much going on. I am going the the UH football game tomorrow and I'm pretty excited about that. We are 4-0 and ranked in the top 20 in the nation. (Colt Brennan for Heisman 2007) We usually tailgate so that will be fun. The crazy thin is I have already been here for one month and only have three months in Hawaii left...that's less then 100 days. It's going by so fast but I still miss everyone back home. I can't wait to see you all. Also I can't wait to go snowboarding. I love the weather here but I need the cold sometimes.

Well, that's it for now. I promise to keep the updates a little more consistent.

Aloha for now,
-Jason

My Video's...the First

So I finally figured out all this Final Cut Pro stuff and was able to get my video's working.

This is the First movie I ever made. It was for a Communications class, 2 years ago, at the University of Hawaii. It is a take on "The Most Dangerous Game." I look at it now and I can see I have improved since then. I hope you enjoy this fine piece of work.

More video's will be posted soon...including some Arizona '07 footage, aloha and enjoy...

Why did I do this???

Yesterday was an unusual day. I shaved my head...I don't know why I did it but I did. I was just sitting there about to give my self a normal trim, when I put the #2 blade on and just took a chunk out of the top. There was no going back from there. I don't really like it all that much but oh well, it will grow back. Well, that's the update from here.

School has been a ridiculous amount of work and I've encountered a lot of little problems all over the place. One good thing is I got all the documents done that needed to be done for my application to the University of San Francisco. So hopefully everything gets there and nothing gets lost in the mail.

Let me know what you think about me shaving my head. Don't lie and say you like if you don't and be nice...I already don't like it, so don't make me like it less.

Aloha from the Islands,
-Jason

Back to Hawaii...

So it's true, I'm back in Hawaii for yet another semester of school. I am not the biggest fan of school but something cool about this semester is...it's my last semester as an undergraduate. I will be graduating from the University of Hawaii in December. I am excited about that. I arrived late last night and was immediately greeted by the Hawaiian humidity.

Anyways I start school tomorrow and this upcoming week is going to be stressful. I have to figure out application stuff for Grad school, I have to move into a new place, I need to buy all my books, I need to get my new computer, I need to start all the school work, and my moped needs to be fixed.

Even with all that, it is good to be back in paradise. I miss all of you back home but I won't be gone that long. Make sure to keep in touch and God Bless.

Graduate School??? Masters Degree???

Today I started the process of applying for graduate school, yeah I know, kinda crazy. I'm still not sure if this is what I want to do but it is an exciting idea. I would attend the University of San Francisco starting in January. I would be working toward a masters degree in Sports Management. I have always wanted to do something in sports so this may be my opportunity. There are a few setbacks and problems. I have to get a lot of application stuff done by September 1st and the degree may cost over $36,000. That is way to much for me. So as I go back to Hawaii this Saturday, try and figure out my last semester, figure out what I'm going to do after I graduate, and start the Arizona Video...keep me in your prayers, I have a lot to think about.

Thanks and God Bless

The Oakland Zoo

Well, yesterday I went to the Oakland Zoo with Josh, Nate, Matt, Kori, Elise, and Miriam. It was a random group but very fun. First off we bought this really cool plastic key to listen to the little talking boxes by each animal, I was so excited, but it didn't even work on the first few and the funny thing is Nate decided to give it to a little kid so we didn't even really use it. We were a little slow due to someone with a fragile body. I ended up giving Kori a piggyback ride around a lot of the park because she jacked her ankles on a trampoline and walking down stairs. It was probably the farthest I've ever carried someone of my back. But anyways we saw monkeys...or wait, were they APES!!! Nate and Matt turned into monkeys with their mating calls and the elephants were MIA when we finally got to the exhibit. The highlight had to be the sky-ride, lol, we went so fast, well maybe not, but we did get to see the mystery animals in the back. I don't know if they were the rejects or there just wasn't a place for them to be. Nate and I also played "what would the worst place to fall off this ride be?" We both agreed falling into the Lion's Den or on the corner of the barbed wire fence wouldn't feel very good.Overall the trip was a lot of fun and a little bit of my childhood came back.

A fun filled day

Today was a good day or I guess since I'm writing this at 1:00 am yesterday was a good day. It all started with an amazing breakfast at Teagans house for her surprise birthday. The coffee cake was great but I think the small group of VBCers there ate it all before any of her school friends got any. I blame Deej, Kori and myself but mainly Kori. We were hungry, what can I say.

Anyways after that I had a chill day of hanging out with friends and relaxing. I also had a softball game at 6:30 and it was a great game. It was officially my retirement game from pitching and I am glad I'm done with it. I'm just not a big fan of balls wizzing by my head and feeling like I'm gonna die. I did make a handful of plays on the mound that earned me a nickname from the other team. They were having a huge debate about what the actual name of Mr. Fantastic was from the Fantastic Four. They were calling me Elastic Man and Mr. Stretch. It made me laugh a little hearing 40 year old men debate about a comic book character. But in the end we won and for maybe the first time in VBC softball history we are undefeated in a league. The final score was something like 17-6.

Following the game I was blessed by an amazing meal cooked by Andrew, Mandie, and Tony. We will miss you Andrew, enjoy Phoenix. It consisted of juicy steak, some fresh veggi's, some rice like thing I can't think of the name, stuffed mushrooms and HUGE pieces of bread. This was a perfect way to end the night before going to see the Bourne Ultimatum.

The Bourne Ultimatum was an amazing movie that I recommend everyone should go and see. I do however recommend that you see the first two before seeing this one. The car chase scenes are sick, watch out for that roof, it's a high one, Jason Bourne is just sick, there is an amazing plot and I was very impressed at how the movie ended and tied all three movies together. My mouth dropped more then once and thats saying a lot. Go see it, its Amazing!!!

Arizona 2007

I just got back from a ten day journey to Arizona and I was compelled to make a blog when I returned due to how cool the Arizona Outreach blog was. This was the first time in the past three years that i didn't have to deal with 30 or so kids during a basketball camp. I had lead the camp the last few years and man was it stressful. A basketball camp seems like an easy thing to do when compared to laying cement but let me tell you....when 30 Navajo kids won't listen to you and are running around like crazy aaannnndddddd they are with you for 4 days straight (even the nights) you start to go a little crazy. I was glad to pass the torch on to Mr. Daniel Bowen. But you know what the funny thing is...I ended up taking Dan's responsibility for the video productions part of the trip which is just as much, and in reality much more work then the camp. I had a lot of fun filming and catching some MOMENTS but I hope that the digitizing and editing process doesn't take too long. I hope to get started on that video as soon as possible so I can get it out to all you amazing people.

Anyways I was blessed by all the people on the trip and I love then very much. I will always enjoy that last day with the Navajo kids and I am glad the dramas went well. Next year I hope to have a little away time from Spencer Colvin since he was on my work-site and kids-club. (I love you Spencer) And I want to throw a little shout out to my work-site and kids-club friends, it was a lot of fun and don't forget the good times like finding the keys to the house, figuring what house to go in, working in an empty house, Reginald, Spider Clovin, paint fights, the children, fried bread, singing songs or Mr. Chee's guitar moment. Thanks to everyone who went and helped minister to the Navajo and just remember hold on to those moments, they are things to cherish.
